Directions
Located in the northern parish of St. Peter, St. Nicholas Abbey is adjacent to Cherry Tree Hill, a landmark prominently marked on most maps and highway signs.
FROM THE SOUTH COAST
Signs for St. Nicholas Abbey are prominently displayed at each turn.
Take Ronald Mapp Highway (Highway 2A) heading north to the T-junction at the end of the highway (Mile and a Quarter); turn right.
Continue on this road until you reach another T-junction (All Saints Church Junction); turn right.
Continue until you come to Portland Plantation; keep straight.
Continue until you come to the next junction by a rum shop; turn right.
Continue on this road (there are several bends) until you reach the Main Gate of St. Nicholas Abbey, on your left.
The entrance to the St. Nicholas Abbey Heritage Railway is immediately after the Main Gate on your left.
FROM THE WEST COAST
Signs for St. Nicholas Abbey are prominently displayed at each major road to the Ronald Mapp Highway (Highway 2A).
Take Ronald Mapp Highway (Highway 2A) heading north to the T-junction at the end of the highway (Mile and a Quarter); turn right.
Continue on this road until you reach another T-junction (All Saints Church Junction); turn right.
Continue until you come to Portland Plantation; keep straight.
Continue until you come to the next junction by a rum shop; turn right.
Continue on this road (there are several bends) until you reach the Main Gate of St. Nicholas Abbey, on your left.
The entrance to the St. Nicholas Abbey Heritage Railway is immediately after the Main Gate on your left.
Alternately:
Take the West Coast Road, heading north.
From Six Mens, turn right.
Continue up Mile and a Quarter, following the signs to St. Nicholas Abbey.
